Margaret Tiner MS, CCC/SLP, BCS-S
Margaret Tiner is from Dearborn, MI. She has a Master of Science degree from Bowling Green State University and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of Houston. Margaret has over 30 years of experience working with adults with voice, articulation, resonance, and swallowing impairments. She spent 20 years in Texas and returned to her home state of Michigan several years ago.
Margaret has worked in various clinical settings, including academic medical centers, a county hospital, rehabilitation hospitals, outpatient clinics, and a private otolaryngology practice. She is the lead clinician at Michigan Medicine – University of Michigan Health in Ann Arbor, MI. In this role, she serves individuals with voice disorders, head and neck cancer, and complex laryngeal dysfunction. She is actively involved in clinical research, which has been presented nationally and internationally. In addition to clinical work, Margaret is a communication coach and consultant helping individuals improve their personal and professional communication skills. In communication coaching, she has worked with individuals from various professions, including corporate accountants, physicians, university professors, and others wishing to improve their speaking skills. In her current role, Margaret provides frequent professional lectures and understands the importance and challenges of developing an effective, personal speaking style.
Margaret is licensed in the state of Michigan. She holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Board Certification in swallowing disorders from the American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders. She is a member of the Michigan Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Dysphagia Research Society. Her interests include a passion for traveling, Pilates, music, and spending cherished time with family and friends.
