Katya Vinokurova M.A. CCC-SLP

Katya Vinokurova received her Bachelor’s in exercise science and sport studies from Rutgers University. While obtaining her degree and after she graduated, she taught English as a Second Language to children and adults in the U.S. as well as various countries in Southeast Asia, South America, and Europe. These experiences confirmed the significance of helping people communicate and inspired her to learn about the complex neurological processes involved in speech and language acquisition and the treatment of speech and language disorders. She subsequently obtained her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Maryland.

During her professional career, Katya has worked in a variety of settings, including acute, subacute, home health, and outpatient rehabilitation with primarily adult and geriatric patient populations to address a variety of diagnoses including, but not limited to, fluency, traumatic brain injury and post-concussion syndrome, aphasia, cognitive-communication disorders, progressive neurological disorders, and motor-speech disorders.

Katya is a certified accent coach and uses the proven Rupp Method to help clients achieve clear American English pronunciation. This effective and structured approach has helped many clients succeed, and Katya's extensive experience with it ensures she can tailor it to her client’s specific needs.

In addition, her clinical expertise includes treating voice disorders, upper airway disorders, including PVFM/VCD, and providing gender-affirming voice training. Katya is a McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program certified provider as well as a certified accent modification instructor. She also specializes in communication coaching for professionals looking to level up their public speaking skills. She takes pride in creating rapport with her clients to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Katya is licensed in Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Washington, and Vermont and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Katya enjoys outdoor activities in her free time, including hiking, backpacking, and foraging. She also enjoys wildcrafting and making herbal medicines, having received her education and training from the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine.
